American Underground Construction (AUC) is an underground utility contractor specializing and focusing on underground electrical and communication dry utility excavation and backfill. AUC has been involved in some of the largest and most complex infrastructure construction projects. Our experience has given us a deep and comprehensive understanding of the markets we serve, as well as the ability to effectively manage people, projects and equipment. It allows us to proactively identify challenges, avoid pitfalls, and overcome obstacles, and to accurately set and meet expectations for schedule and budget.

The biggest strength of AUC is its experience in personnel. Our founder and president, Jeff Socha, was born into this line of work with his grandfather starting an electrical contracting business in 1950. He has held a Masters Electrical license since 26 years old and was raised learning how to own and operate this type of company. Our Vice President of Operations, Rob Baethge, has 20 years of experience as well, helping build a successful underground utility company in the 2000s. He has a Journeyman Electrical license and has worked in the field, been a superintendent, general superintendent of a $40M company, and project manager on multi million dollar projects. Finally our Controller, Jessie Barnes, brings high level accounting oversight to the business. She graduated from Utah State University and has experience as a controller in financial services, restaurant, and hi tech companies. This outside view provides great accountability and auditing for our finances.
